ARCHE Dwór Uphagena
This year, PGConf.PL will be held at the ARCHE Dwór Uphagena
ARCHE Dwór Uphagena
1 Prof. Kieturakisa Street, 80-742 Gdańsk
Uphagen Manor House in Gdańsk is the pearl of the north in the Arche Hotels collection. The four-star complex lies in the heart of the charming city of Gdańsk, in Dolne Miasto district – a rapidly developing, historic neighbourhood located by the Motława river outflow, adjacent to the city’s Downtown and Old Town.
To get to the venue, you can take the underground to the Dworzec Gdańsk Śródmieście stop, which is just a short walk away. Alternatively, you can take a train to the Gdańsk Główny station, which is also nearby. If you prefer to take a bus, there are several routes that stop close to the venue. For those driving, there is parking available at the venue, but we recommend using public transportation if possible due to limited parking spaces.
Getting To ARCHE Dwór Uphagena
By Plane
The most convenient airport is Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN), located approximately 17 km from the venue. By taxi, Uber, or Bolt, the journey takes around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
From Gdańsk Airport to the venue
- Taxi / Uber / Bolt - the easiest option, around 20-30 minutes
- Public transport - available but usually requires a transfer and takes longer
Alternative airports
If direct flights to Gdańsk are unavailable or significantly more expensive, consider flying to Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) and taking a train to Gdańsk. Fast PKP Intercity trains (Pendolino / EIP) connect Warsaw to Gdańsk Główny in around 2.5-3 hours - see the By Train section below for details on getting from the station to the venue.
Other Polish airports (e.g. Kraków, Katowice, Wrocław) are also an option - all have good intercity rail connections to Gdańsk, though the journey will be longer (4-5 hours by train).
By Tram
The tram is the easiest and most convenient way to reach the venue, with the nearest stop just a short walk away. Gdańsk's tram network is operated by ZTM Gdańsk.
Trams 8 and 9 both terminate at Głęboka, approximately 650 m (around 10 minutes on foot) from the venue. From the Głęboka stop, follow ul. Siennicka eastwards, then turn south onto ul. Długie Ogrody - the venue is at ul. Prof. Kieturakisa 1 on the right.
- Line 8: Jelitkowo ↔ Głęboka (via Wały Jagiellońskie, Podwale Przedmiejskie)
- Line 9: Strzyża PKM ↔ Głęboka (via Zwycięstwa, Wały Jagiellońskie, Podwale Przedmiejskie)
Both lines pass through the city centre and run frequently during the day - trams cut through city traffic, making them faster than buses on the same corridors.
Buying tickets
ZTM tickets are valid on both buses and trams. There are several ways to buy one:
- Kiosk - tickets are sold at newsagents and kiosks throughout the city
- Mobile app - available via Skycash, moBILET, Jakdojade.pl (also great for journey planning), or zbiletem.pl
- Ticket machine - found at major stops and on board some vehicles
- Contactless card reader on board - pay as you go by tapping your contactless bank card on the reader inside the vehicle
- Fala system ("tap to go") - a journey-based tap-in/tap-out system using a contactless bank card or the "Falomat" terminal on board. See System Fala for details
A single ZTM journey costs around 4-6 PLN and is valid for transfers within the time limit.
By Urban Rail (SKM)
Gdańsk is served by the SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska) - a rapid urban railway connecting the Tri-City area (Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia). The nearest SKM station to the venue is:
- Gdańsk Śródmieście SKM - approximately 1 km away, about 15 minutes on foot
From Gdańsk Śródmieście SKM, head south along ul. Dyrekcyjna, then continue via ul. Łagiewniki and ul. Wałowa towards Dolne Miasto. The venue at ul. Prof. Kieturakisa 1 is well signposted in the neighbourhood.
SKM trains run frequently - every 5-15 minutes during the day. Tickets can be purchased at station machines or via the SKM PKP app. A single journey within Gdańsk Zone 1 costs around 4-6 PLN.
By Train
Gdańsk Główny is the main intercity railway station, served by PKP Intercity (Pendolino, Express, and Intercity trains from Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Berlin, and beyond). It is approximately 2 km from the venue.
Recommended routes from Gdańsk Główny
- Take the SKM urban rail one stop south to Gdańsk Śródmieście, then walk ~15 minutes to the venue
- Take tram 8 or 9 (direction Głęboka) from the stop outside the station to Siennicka or Głęboka, then walk ~10 minutes
Approximate journey times to Gdańsk Główny
- Warsaw - 3 hours (Pendolino / EIP)
- Wrocław - 4.5 hours
- Kraków - 5 hours
- Berlin - 6 hours (direct EC train)
- Poznań - 3 hours
Check timetables and book tickets at PKP Intercity or via the Koleo app.
