In which areas do you expect PostgreSQL adoption to grow the most, and how is your company contributing to that growth?
We expect PostgreSQL adoption to continue growing strongly, especially in enterprise environments, cloud and distributed workloads, but also around AI and machine learning, with the increasing importance of vector search.
At Navicat, our contribution is mainly about accessibility and tooling. As PostgreSQL becomes more powerful and offers more advanced capabilities, our role is to make these technologies easier to use for developers, DBAs and data professionals.
We want to provide an intuitive environment that allows users to take advantage of PostgreSQL's evolution while remaining productive in their daily work.
How does PostgreSQL help you deliver value to your customers?
PostgreSQL is a very important part of our ecosystem because it is used by a large and growing community of developers, DBAs and companies.
Our role at Navicat is to make working with PostgreSQL easier and more productive. Through Navicat for PostgreSQL and Navicat Premium, users can manage their databases through an intuitive graphical interface while still having access to powerful PostgreSQL capabilities.
We provide tools for tasks such as visual query building, data modelling, data synchronization, migration and database administration.
So for us, the value comes from combining the power and flexibility of PostgreSQL with tools that simplify the everyday work of database professionals.
How does PostgreSQL fit into your products or services, and why did you choose it?
PostgreSQL has been part of the Navicat ecosystem for a long time.
Back in 2006, we saw PostgreSQL gaining serious traction among enterprises, and we wanted to give developers and DBAs a more intuitive way to work with it. That led us to introduce Navicat for PostgreSQL.
Since then, PostgreSQL has become a core part of our product ecosystem. Today, it is supported not only in Navicat for PostgreSQL, but also in Navicat Premium, Navicat Data Modeler and Navicat Monitor.
Almost twenty years later, the continued growth of PostgreSQL confirms how important that decision was for us.
